Agave Festival Marfa is excited to present Ricardo Pico, one of the foremost advocates of Sotol, founder of Sotol Clande ( @clandesotol) and owner of one of Cd. Chihuahua’s best bars, La Vinata ( @lavinatacuu ) - on Friday, June 7th.

If you’ve read anything about Sotol in recent years, chances are there’s a quote in there by Ricardo. We see at least two reasons for this. One, Clande is excellent in all its variations and anyone making a spirit this good deserves attention. Two, he provides a remarkably thoughtful and nuanced perspective on the history of Sotol and its situation in our current moment. We’re talking about national borders, denomination of origin, historical legality, cultural traditions, the whole thing.
