Ron Cooper

Agave Festival Marfa is proud to Ron Cooper, artist, founder of Del Maguey Single Village Mezcal and author of the book, “Finding Mezcal,” which tells the story of Ron’s experiences in Mexico and with mezcal through memoir, recipes and photographs.

A primary contributor to the popularity of mezcal in the States, Ron Cooper has been among the most influential people in our Agave spirit culture for more than thirty years. In fact, there are probably very few people who have had a comparable impact on spirit culture of any kind.

Additionally, his own art appeared at Documenta 5; he put drawings by Ken Price on his bottles; and his work is in about twenty public museums. We’re talking about a very interesting person. And we’re honored that he’ll be a big part of the Festival this year.
