Laura Copelin

Laura Copelin is Ballroom Marfa’s Executive Director & Curator. In Marfa, she has realized numerous exhibitions, installations, programs, and publications, including: Candelilla, Coatlicue, and the Breathing Machine, featuring Beatriz Cortez, Candice Lin, and Fernando Palma Rodriguez (2019); the Hyperobjects exhibition and catalogue with Timothy Morton (2018); stone circle, a major public installation by Haroon Mirza (2018); Tierra. Sangre. Oro. with Rafa Esparza (2017); Artists’ Film International with Brigid McCaffrey, The Institute for New Feeling, Arjuna Neuman & Denise Ferreira da Silva, Jibade-Khalil Huffman, and Carolina Caycedo (2015-2019); After Effect co-organized with Fairfax Dorn (2016); the Marfa Dialogues/Houston symposium with Fotofest International at the Menil Collection, the Contemporary Art Museum Houston, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (2016); the Sam Falls exhibition and catalogue (2015), and more.
