Cheech Marin

Agave Festival Marfa 2019 is proud to present Cheech Marin on Sunday, June 2nd at the Crowley Theater.

Cheech, who is a legendary actor, director, writer, musician, art collector, and humanitarian, will be in conversation with Josh T Franco, PhD, National Collector at the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution. Marin is the author of a great memoir, “Cheech is Not My Real Name... But Don’t Call Me Chong!” and has published several excellent books on his art collection, all of which we’ll be celebrating during the Fest. Cheech is recognized as a preeminent advocate for Chicano Art and has developed what is arguably the finest and most extensive collection of Chicano Art in the country. Additionally, Cheech is a spokesperson for Tres Papalote Mezcal! So there will be a lot to talk about and plenty to drink. His contributions to American Art are beyond description - through comedy, performance, advocacy, the list goes on - we’re extremely honored to host him. Book your trip to Marfa now! The lineup is frankly jaw-dropping.
