Bertha González Nieves is the CEO and Co-Founder of Tequila Casa Dragones, an independent, small batch ultra-premium tequila producer. Born and raised in Mexico City, González Nieves is an entrepreneur with a career dedicated to the tequila industry and was named by Fortune and Food & Wine magazine as one of “The Most Innovative Women in Food & Drink” in 2015. 

González Nieves’ extensive knowledge of the industry, coupled with her vision to revolutionize the category of tequila, led her on a journey to create Tequila Casa Dragones. In 2008, she co-founded the company with Bob Pittman, founder of MTV, with the mission of becoming one of the tequila producers helping to shape the industry for the future.

In 2009, the company debuted Tequila Casa Dragones Joven, a rare blend of 100% Blue Agave silver and extra aged tequila, made especially for sipping and pairing with food. In 2014, Casa Dragones expanded its collection with Tequila Casa Dragones Blanco, a 100% Pure Blue Agave silver tequila, crafted especially to be enjoyed on the rocks or in craft cocktails.

Her commitment to the tequila industry led her to obtain her certification as a Maestra Tequilera by the Academia Mexicana de Catadores de Tequila, one of the few women in the industry that hold this distinction. She is also one of the founding professors for the first university course "Técnico Tequilero" at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara with the mission of creating an educational platform to better prepare new generations to enter the tequila category and further develop the Tequila appellation of Origin.

Prior to co-founding Casa Dragones, González Nieves, spent ten years as a top executive for Grupo Jose Cuervo, the world’s leading tequila company. There she led the brand’s global initiatives and was responsible for global innovation including the company’s portfolio of products. Previously, Bertha served as a consultant at Booz Allen & Hamilton. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Business Administration from Universidad Anahuac in Mexico City and holds a Masters of Science degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from the Medill School of Journalism & J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University where she was awarded the "Tatham Award" for exceptional performance and promise in her field. 

In the past, she has served as a Board member of Editorial Mapas in Mexico City and Legal Momentum in New York City, as well as on the marketing committee of El Museo del Barrio in New York City. She has served on the Board of Endeavor, a global nonprofit that transforms emerging countries by supporting high-impact entrepreneurs.
